No Custom POI's in menu

Windows 10 up to date. Garmin up to date. Basecamp just downloaded and installed.

I've a Nuvi 2639. I have used POILoader for Poi Factory cvs files into my Garmin.I see and use them OK there.

I now have my Nuvi connected to PC and want to use the custom POI's in Basecamp.

How do I get the Custom POI's installed on Nuvi to be in Basecamp?
Should they automatically come from my Garmin or do I install them separately into Basecamp?

I tried and used the POILoader to install the folder of cvs POI's to My Computer also using the same folder as I used in getting POI's into my Garmin.

In the Basecamp Maps -> the Manage Custom POI's is greyed out.

How to fix so I can see the Custom POI's in Basecamp?

Thanks.

  • I've locked the old thread you resurrected in favour of this one.  POIs from your nuvi are viewable in BaseCamp, and are selected via the toolbar Maps, Manage Custom POIs...

I know that  toolbar menu item lets you turn individual POI's on or off. The problem is the POI's I've installed do not show up to begin with. That entire menu item is Greyed Out.

Question 1. Do POI's I've installed in my Garmin sync to the Basecamp?

Question 2. If they do sync, how do I do that.

Question 3. Do I use POILoader to install POI's into Basecamp by selecting the item "Computer" for location to install them?

Question 4. I installed the POI's into my Garmin using .csv files. They work fine there. Do I use csv files for Basecamp?

Question 5. Besides the menu item you mention is/are there any other settings which effect the POI's being available in Basecamp?

Question 6. My Custom POI's in my Garmin, which I instlled, do not show up in Basecamp. Any idea why? The GarminExpress and POILoader work fine for my Garmin.

    Thank you.

  • Once your device is connected they should show in that toolbar item, you don't sync them, it can sometimes take a while before they do show. Just confirm they are in the POI folder on your device and are .gpi files?

Using POI loader and selecting computer doesn't in itself make them visible in BaseCamp.
