Where is the New Route Window?

Where is the Basecamp New Route box?  When I click New Route or the New Route icon, a box is supposed to appear with Start and Destination fields for me to fill.  (in addition to the little arrow on the map that I can use to place waypoints.    Where is the New Route Box?  My friend's Windows computer shows it, but not mine.

My friend's has a check box "Do not show this again".  He hasn't clicked it.  I don't know whether I have or not.  But if I have, I'd like to unclick it.

  • I've deleted your post in the mac section, for future reference click on more then delete.

    As to your question here, unfortunately once clicked there is no way to unclick it but there is a field in the Basecamp config file that you could change if you are confident with a text editor.

    The value you need to change is in this key.
    <setting name="ShowRouteCreationDialog" serializeAs="String">
    <value>False</value>

    You need to change "False" to "True".

    The user.config (XML) file is found in

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\GARMIN_Corp\BaseCamp.exe_Url_<some alphanumeric characters>\<version>\

  • Thank you for deleting my erroneous post, SUSSAMB.
    So far, I haven't been able to find the XML file yet.  Not in any "Users" folder.  In fact, no Garmin located in any User's folder.  But I'm still searching.

  • HEY!  AND THERE IT IS!
    I found a half dozen files, some had the option ON and others OFF.  So I turned them all ON.  I don't have a clue which initialization file it was using, but I covered it and now it works!
    Thank you so much.   I'd have killed my brain trying to find that on my own.
