update maps

Hello.

I have two installations of Basecamp 4.6.2: one on a Windows 10 laptop and one on a Windows 10 desktop. I have three automotive GPS's: two DriveSmart 55's and one Drive 60. Each of the GPS's has free lifetime map updates.

Is there someway to download a map update file once, and to use that file to update the two Basecamp installs and the three GPS's?

Well Express will download most of the files that all 3 units need when you update the first one, so the other 2 devices will update faster. I tend to simply update both my laptop and desktop but I do have a 100mbps link. You can though use JaVaWa's GMTK program to copy the maps in BaseCamp from one PC to another if your internet is limited in some way.

Yes, my internet connection is slow so it's an overnight process for Express to download a new map.

Is there anything I need to do to settings or procedure for Express to download and then later find the stored files that will speed up the update of the map to the other two GPS's?

Express will automatically download and use the stored files.
