basecamp 4.7.2 not showing map detail unless garmin gpsmap64sx device connected

Hi phil , I initially copied maps to my pc ,I checked in Windows installed program's and the map was installed,  but they never showed while my device was disconnected,  I redownloaded express and basecamp, then reinstalled the map . But still not showing up and express never gave me any option to install the map to pc like other threads I read ? Now my map is on my device but doesn't show in Windows installed program's. It still won't show my map in basecamp when the device is disconnected 

Well first when you say you copied the map to your PC that won't work, you need to install it using Express, depending on which map you're talking about.  You may have done that as you also say it shows in installed programs?

If you have installed it to your PC using Express have you selected it in BaseCamp?

hey mate , yes i installed the map the correct way thru express , i used Garmin express the correct way to install au\nz toppo activ, maps which came with my gpsmap 64 sx , i aslo have two other gamins which the base maps have the option in express to install to pc, and they work  . but this unit doesn't have the option there? 

If the option isn't there then it can't be done, but there are other ways, you can just copy the map files to a physical removable drive (eg memory stick) or a virtual one and BC will read the map from them.  For help with a virtual drive see https://www.javawa.nl/virtualdevice.html
