Route made in Basecamp on my pc and then imported to Trip Planner on my Garmin 396LTM - a number gets automatically added to this route

When I make a route in Basecamp on my PC and then import it into my Garmin 396LTM I find that a number appears in the Trip Planner route at the end of the name of the route - usually a 1 or 2 and I'm not sure why?

Normally happens if you already have a trip of that name already on your device?

I wonder if it's because I had a trip with that name on my device then I deleted it and redid the route? I guess if I have one of the same trips with no number and the same trip with a number I could delete one of the trips? - whichever one is most current?
