unwanted changes to a route

Hi there,

I discovered a strange behaviour of Basecamp (Vers. 4.7.2) which did not exist in previous versions if I remember correctly. Quite often I use routes planned in the past and modify them. So I copy the old route in a new list and start working on it. I was rather shocked that unless I change the name of the copied route the original route will also be changed...

As I said I only discovered this recently am I am working for 6 years with basecamp now and I cannot remember that previous versions did this. Is this intended? It does not make any sense at all to me.

It's always behaved this way when you copy a route due to the database nature of My Collection. It's why there is a Duplicate function in addition to the Copy function. If you want to maintain the original route without changes do not copy the route, Duplicate the route and then move it to a new list.

BTW the same applies to waypoints too.

yeah got almost the same reply in the German section of this forum, for whatever reason I had not noticed that in the past. Thanks for the reply and your explanation
