old MapSource software new BaseCamp

Hi,

Can anyone explain the relationship between my old 60CS and my old purchased Canada Topo (4 pack) CD's and the old MapSource software and all this new stuff and Basecamp?

Basecamp can currently see my old 60CS and my newer Nuvi 3597 of course but I don't think I can use that Basecamp software to add/remove mapsheets to my 60 CS like I used to.

( can I? )    Also, for that matter can I add topo sheets to my Nuvi instead of the base maps?

Also it seems to be the case that all my old save files in filename.GDB are now changed to some new format like filename.gpx - is that the case as well?

Lastly, is it just me or can you NOT cut and paste questions into this help forum and you have to re-type it all?

Cheers'
Dave

  • Well you can certainly copy and paste, although this may depend on your browser.

I can't recall how a GPS60 works with BaseCamp, you'll just have to try it and see, but you can certainly add topo maps to your nuvi, be aware though some topo maps don't display well on automobile devices.

BaseCamp by default works with .gpx but can work with .gdb files
