Does the latest 4.7.2 Basecamp work with Edge 1030 Plus?

I was considering purchasing an Edge 1030 Plus, but there are a couple of messages here indicating that Basecamp does not recognise the 1030 Plus. I use Velomap maps, and Basecamp is what I use to transfer them to the GPS, so if that functionality is broken for the 1030 Plus, I don't want to purchase it.

Yes, Basecamp recognises the 1030 via export collection/file.

What does that mean? And are you talking about the 1030 or 1030 Plus - you only say 1030? If I have maps installed in Basecamp, can I connect the 1030 Plus, start Basecamp, and install those maps from Basecamp onto the 1030 Plus.

Compatibility with Basecamp is getting fixed in the upcoming software update for the Edge 1030 Plus. We currently have a beta software available for the Edge which contains the fix. You can download and install it here: https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=15397

I have the 1030 plus with software version 3.0. The 1030 plus is not recognized in Basecamp and does not show up as a drive on a Windows or Mac computer. The 1030 Plus does not contain an external SD card. What are my options to put my waypoint files or maps on this device? Software version 3.0 should fix these problems?

Hmm. My 1030+ with 3.0 shows up as a drive in Windows.

dpawlyk Which version of Windows are you using?

I have tried 10, 8.1 and 7. Connected to Linux and ran lsusb and it doesnt show up either. Tried another cable and a full reset and reset up the 1030 plus. Also will not connect to Garmin Express but while connected to my computer i was able to download and app from IQ Store?? Will contact Garmin and probably send it back and get something else that works.
