Going back on routes

help before i throw my satnav in the sea garmin 396ltm i make a route on google maps (findit easier) then import into basecamp adjust what i need looks all good . But if i stray of the route by even 10 metres it trys too get me back on the route for ever even after 20 miles of saying make a u turn . All i want too know is how do i just carry on on my route and the sat nav picks up my destination with out sending me back all the time i put way points in but still no good help please

I don't use google maps but I suspect that's the issue. Have you tried creating the route in BaseCamp to see if you get the same problem? I've been using BaseCamp for many years and don't recognise the behaviour you describe.

Note if you're putting in waypoints your device will try to get you back to them as they aren't meant to be skipped. You may find it useful to read this www.newenglandriders.org/.../
