You don't need to connect to Garmin to do that
thanks for elaborating
i have cleaned up all my tracks in My Collection and want to replace internal memory tracks with this folder..is this possible?
Would help if you said which device?
My device is a 276cx. I cleaned up all my tracks in my collection and am trying to remove the internal memory as it is cluttered.
You need to delete all the tracks on your device using the menu on the 276 (see page 31 of the manual), then send the cleaned up data to your device.
Thank you. And what if i encounter the Error Message again? Its always seemed to do it.
What gives you that error?
This article may help: "There was a problem communicating with the Garmin device" Error in BaseCamp . That error message can be generated if you're trying to transfer out dated or corrupted Birdseye files. This article has steps for clearing out the Birdseye folder of the device if that's the case: "Invalid BirdsEye File" Error Message on a Garmin Handheld
Thanks Andrew. I just got back home and will look this over this weekend..I figured it had something to do with the Birdseye but i just wasn't willing to delete those files from the unit..Ill check it out.
