Basecamp won’t open and wants to uninstall

Hi hope someone can help!

Ive just download basecamp and it works fine until I close down my computer then when I start it again and open basecamp it brings up a box saying Modify Setup and my only options are Uninstall or close, if I close it shuts it down and if I uninstall it obviously uninstalls the programme. I’ve have tried uninstalling and downloading again but get the same problem. Anyone have any ideas how to fix?

  • The file you download is for installation.  I am guessing that you are trying to open BaseCamp by opening the downloaded file a second time.  If you click on the start menu (window panes on lower left of your screen) you should see a list of applications.  If not, look for and click on the 3 bars at the top left).  Scroll down to the G and open the tile that says Garmin.

    From here, you can:

Left click on BaseCamp to open the file

    Right click on BaseCamp to:

    1. Pin to Start to create a tile on the right side of the start window

    2. more and Pin to taskbar to access it from the bottom bar

3  more and open file location, then right click on the shortcut and choose create a shortcut.  You cannot create a shortcut in this folder, but it will ask you if you want to create a shortcut on the desktop, so click yes if that is your preference.

The application resides in the Program Files (x86) >Garmin>BaseCamp folder.if you wish to create a shortcut from there.
