Sharpen screen image

I am using Windows 10 and a 27 inch monitor.

I have the 'display settings' set to (scaled) to 125% to enlarge text, apps etc as my eyesight is not as good as it used to be.

The text displayed on maps in Basecamp is NOT sharp (it is sharp if I reset display settings to 100%) which makes looking at it difficult. I have other apps which don't have this problem.

Is there anything I can do to increase the size of text on the maps without loosing sharpness?

Thanks

John

  • Have you tried changing the map font size? The default is 8.

Go to Edit > Options > Display > Scroll down to "Map Font" > click Select. You'll see the window below. Choose a size bigger than 8.

Thanks for your very fast reply which I appreciate.

I changed the font size and it improved it. I also changed the rendering quality to high and it now looks better but not as good as when 'display settings' is set to 100%. Oh well it is better.

Is there a secret to enable copying GMAP files from one PC to another and not get the error that they need unlocking or should I start another thread? There is no error on the original PC only my new one.

Yes, please start a new thread since this is a new topic. Thanks.

  • Purchase, place next to PC and wear a pair of appropriate reading glasses when doing computer work.  Been doing that for 15 years.

    Purchase what?

I do have reading glasses and been wearing them for years latest pair just a few months old.

I don't seem to notice this lack of sharpness on my old PC which has a 24 inch monitor and runs Windows 7 so maybe there is a setting within Windows which can affect sharpness of image on the monitor?
