I bought a Garmin 64ST with preloaded Canadian topo maps. Is there any way to use this topo in Basecamp without having GPS plugged into my PC?

You don't need it, you just need to copy the map to a removeable drive so a card, memory stick or a virtual removable drive, see here

Well that'll be the map file, so I'd recopy it from your device to the virtual drive.

Excuse my ignorance. The only option I have is to virtualize the GPS. I have done this 6 times now and still does not work. The error says that an error occurred when attempting to use the Topo Canada v4 Map product. Any help would be appreciated.

Well it's difficult to diagnose at a distance, it should work.  Do you have a memory stick you can copy the files to?  Using that would help determine if it's the map file or not.  Note the map has to be in a folder named Garmin on the drive.

Problem solved! I uninstalled Javawa and reinstalled a new copy. Everything works now. thank you for your help and patience.
