Is it me or is Basecamp rubbish!

/why on gods green earth is it so hard to plan a route? Surely in this day and age of Google maps you would think that planning a route and putting it onto your device would be as straight forward as click on a point and then on a next. Frankly i think i have completely wasted my money on this system. I can download an app which is hundreds of times better than this garbage, for a fraction of the price.

Can some one please help i am losing the will to live!!

I am trying to plan a motorcycle route. I am using the trip planner and selecting the points I want to go to but for some reason it deviates from the route and takes me a totally different way to the way…

It's easy so you're doing something wrong, so perhaps explain your problem in more detail. What map are you using? What routing activity are you using? How are you trying to create the route?

I don't either understand your comment on price as BaseCamp is free?

And when I select all the points along the route it changes where I want to go. Also is there a limit to the amount of points you can plan into a route?

You still haven't said which map and which routing activity, both will affect how BaseCamp works. Some maps for example aren't routeable as the map doesn't contain the necessary detail.

As for the limit on points, not in BaseCamp but there is on devices, and that number varies depending on the device.

If you want detailed help you need to provide more detail , and a screenshot often helps too

Well, after a week of watching and listening to the tutorials I have finally succeeded in producing a route which while not being exactly the intended journey, is close enough.

The avoidance boxes all need unticking as a first job. Take the time to plot carefully and a usable map is possible. Took 12 hours of practice though.
