Basecamp Changling route from GPX File

When I create a route which I convert to a .GPX file and load into basecamp, the route gets changed and is nothing like that I created. Is there a reason why basecamp wont load the route? I know the files aren't corrupt as I've used several difference source to get the GPX file. I've tried different routes to no avail. Why must basecamp be such a pain to use? Why wont this program just load the route I plotted.

Any help would be appreciated.

It will, but it can only use the map you've selected in BaseCamp. If the original route was created on a different map using different routing and avoidance settings you must expect it to be changed. The way around it would be to send it as a track, not a route.
