Heading from US to Italy, Anything To Do?

Greetings community, my first post.

I have a Garmin 64st and will be taking it with me to Florence and Rome, Italy, in a few months (from the US).

I was curious if there is anything to be done in either BaseCamp or even the 64st in advance of that trip. I have not used it outside the US so unsure if I should plot or plan anything on the device or BaseCamp before heading out.

I do plan on trying to Geocache out there, so I know I should download the caches in advance (but closer to the trip in case they go dormant), but as for Garmin software, not sure.

Any suggestions gladly welcome.

BaseCamp will still work out there as will your 64. You'd do well to install some US mapping to BaseCamp and/or your device, and there is plenty of free OSM mapping around that is suitable for geocaching.

Basecamp will work fine as long as you have European maps loaded on your PC and your 64st.

It'll still work fine, but detailed maps will help with route planning etc
