Trip planning

Just bought my new Garmin Drive 51LM. Did the updates and downloads, wont recognize my destinations in Trip planning. Keeps telling me I have an error, please select a destination. All the destinations come up on the map while I am doing the planning. So far not doing anything I wanted it to do.

You may also want to explain in more detail what you mean, and how you are currently trying to do it, so that folks can help you.

In BaseCamp there is a tab called TripPlanning. I input my start point and then my destination. When I do the input the map adjusts and shows each point. When I click on PlanTrip I receive and error message, Please provide a destination.

Ah OK. I don't use the Trip Planner app in BC so can't help you. I prefer to create my routes using the route tool.

Just opened up my basecamp again and it did yet another software/map update. 4 times now! This time the Trip Planner is working.

I'd be surprised, BC doesn't work like that, what makes you think it's updating?

It kept asking me to install new updates.

What did? BaseCamp if you had an old version may have updated once to the newer version, but it wouldn't keep updating, or were you running Express and you're talking about updates to your Drive?

Basecamp. And every time I open the device it have to agree to everything all over again.

How was BaseCamp updating over and over, it simply doesn't do that. As for your device, as it's new have you allowed it to get a satellite lock and used it? Once you've done that there is only one screen you have to agree to, and that will go away after a few seconds if you ignore it.
