how to remove part of a map?

Hi guys.. I have a question,

I downloaded a map from a free map service, which i downloaded as a .img file. used maptoolset to import it into basecamp.

but this map is huge, it is of my whole country! i only need one county of this. so how can i edit/cut off the map i do not want to transfer to my gps.?

This lets you pick the region (so you get only what you need):

Also when sending a 'map' to your device from BaseCamp you can generally choose what you send.

this is a whole map, i dont think i can choose only part of maps to be transferred?

Looking at them they have a Windows installer, so unsure why you jumped through the hoops with converting the .img map using maptoolset? If you use the installer you should find the map is composed of many 'map tiles', and you can then send only those you wish to your device.

i couldnt get the windows installer to work? it installed and everything fine. but not showing up in basecamp

Then I'd try contacting the map provider for help. Or try gmaptool which allows you to split .img maps http://www.gmaptool.eu/en/content/gmaptool
