For local hikes, I use Basecamp on my home desktop PC along with my Etrex 25t Touch. We are now planning a (non-local) trip to Madeira. At home, I have downloaded Birdseye imagery for Madeira and planned some routes using said desktop PC.
I have a new notebook PC that I want to take to Madeira for managing hikes while we are there. I plan to download and install Basecamp and Garmin Express on the new notebook.
My question is how do I get my planned tracks and the Birdseye imagery to the new notebook?
One thing I think might work is to copy the tracks and imagery from the desktop PC to my Etrex internal storage (actually already done). Then hook the Etrex up to the new notebook, hope I can see the Etrex internal storage, and then simple move the tracks and imagery from internal storage to My Collection, which will initially be empty on the notebook. I am hesitating because I do not know if this will violate terms and conditions related to the purchased imagery and therefore result in failure.
Alternatively, I have also read on this forum that I might be able to simply do a back up of my desktop's Basecamp and simply do a restore in my notebook's Basecamp.
What would you all recommend? Any gotchas?
Thanks!
