Change date and time of a waypoint in track

Hi all, thats it... I need to change the date and time of the very first waypoint of a track due to I took a short distance from another (and older) track. Why I need do that? Beause Wikiloc takes first and last waypoints to set the overall time; if not track took years...

I can copy a waypoint-track and make a regular waypoint; but not in the opposite way. I tried to copy paste in Word / Excel; respecting the tabs, change date&time, but it doesn't work. I'm using Map Source...

Any idea? Thanks in advance.

I would try saving the track as a .gpx file and making changes there. A gpx file is in plain text and can be edited with notepad (or any other text editor). Make sure .txt isn't appended to the file name…

This is the BaseCamp forum, Mapsource was discontinued many years ago although I appreciate that some still use it. In BaseCamp I'd simply delete that first point.

Make sure .txt isn't appended to the file name after saving changes. Just rename the file if it happens. The data/time field looks like <time>yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ</time> (24 hour time format)..

Thank you, next hundreds points are from 2015 so i have to remove the missing starting part I am trying to insert from older tracks.

Sussamb, once I found picking up a point from a track to easily make a waypoint is not possible in BaseCamp (as far as I know you need to write down the data) I tried to keep Mapsource as long as possible...

4 days 8 hours 1 minute instead of 4 years and whatever.

I opened the gpx file in the simple text editor; easily find the 1st waypoint of the track searching "2015", I change the data and save.
