Basecamp crashes when importing new GPX files

I reinstalled Basecamp in an effort to fix a small problem, now Basecamp crashes when I try to import a gpx file.

Since the crashes started, I uninstalled Basecamp again, removed the related Appdata files and back versioned to 4.6.2. Basecamp still crashes when trying to add the first gpx file into an empty My Collection folder. It also crashes when exporting a single GPX file, after I restored from the backup.

I have some other GIS software, such as QGIS, but these have been preset for years. Does Basecamp rely on other software like GDAL that may conflict with a version in QGIS?

Any suggestions?

I am unsure what I did the change things or if I did anything at all, but Basecamp is now exporting and importing GPX files properly. Go figure.
