Express says 2020.10 maps are available...if you select to install to your computer to include the update for BaseCamp, the description says it will also install BC. Has that always been there or is this a way to force an update ro 4.7?
I *always* run GE from within a VM (Virtual Machine) dedicated to that purpose. Actually I copy that VM and run GE from the copy then delete it when I'm done.
Once GE has installed the maps (and BaseCamp) I copy the .gmap folder (the maps) and the .gma (unlock) file to real machines.
Garmin started automatically installing Basecamp so time ago. Since it is in a VM I delete anyway I don't care what Garmin does (or doesn't do).
I installed 2020.10 a couple of weeks ago and never saw anything telling me to upgrade to 4.7. I did the map update the same way I always have using Garmin Express.
Hey Dennis - since I don't trust Garmin anymore, I want to make sure nothing is going to upgrade BC to 4.7.
When you update the maps you select device and computer and do the download all at the same time? Have you verified BC didn't upgrade to 4.7?
Have you updated Express to the latest also?
No BC 4.7 and I updated my RV770 and computer at the same time. I did this with the previous version of Express (before 6.12.0.0). Maybe the new version of Express is causing this?
