Unwanted avoidance

I am preparing a route through Northern Vietnam, using a OSM map. Everything worked fine. Then while I was adding a waypoint suddenly the route was changed in another part. It was a main road Basecamp simply denied using. I had not done any changes to settings, no updates, no nothing.
I recalculated the route, but this unwanted and strange avoidance kept coming up. I double-checked the routing properties, tried different profiles, without success.
I put in a new shaping points, until the route seemingly was correct, but still it makes U-turns and a huge detour.
I have deleted the maps, and reinstalled. Nothing seems to help, and this behavior came out of nowhere. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1436957.jpg

Check the routing settings. I've seen behaviour like this when seasonal roads have been selected to avoid.

Has been checked - several times. The problem is caused by something else.

In that case it'll be the map so contact the map maker.

Zoom in tight to the section of road between the closest shaping points on each side if the detour. You will almost certainly see a break of some sort, eg. a spot where two segments of that section are not physically joined. That is the most common reason for this sort of behaviour when the obvious ones like SUSSAMB mentioned aren't there. If you see a break you can report it with a specific set of coordinates for the break. That is much more helpful when reporting it then just generally reporting the behaviour.
