Basecamp thinks I don't have a map installed on the device, when I do.

I'm trying to transfer a simple route from basecamp to my GPSMAP 66s. However, when I transfer the route to the device I get a warning saying, that the route have been recalculated, because on the device I don't have the map installed, on which I have created the route. And the recalculated route looks very strange, see the attached pictures. The problem is, that in fact I do have the map installed on the device. I'm using basecamp version 4.6.2. Yes. Not bad for first generation firmware on a device with only a base map installed. Keep clicking, but not on this forum.

What do you mean by only a base map installed? I have installed additional maps, as you can see in the image below.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1436270.jpg

Looks like the map selected isn't routeable, which is why you're getting straight lines ...

But it's a routeable map, and the device is able to navigate me to a waypoint using this map.

Do you only have that routeable map selected? The others are not enabled?

Yes, I have disabled every other map including the basemap, and it's still the same.

If that's the case and if the map is routeable check your settings, ensure in routing settings off road or similar isn't selected.

In routing settings hiking is selected as the activity.

So, which map is enabled?

The OSM generic routable might not work for hiking (it might only be routable for "vehicles").

If some of the roads that are needed to create a reasonable route are indicated as prohibiting pedestrians, you get nonsense like you are seeing.

The hiking map appears to not be routable.

The result you got suggests the device isn't using a routable map (and that your understanding that it is, is a misapprehension).

Oh...

From what I've seen, BaseCamp displays the installed maps and you have to select the one to use.

Adding to that when you created the map in BaseCamp did you have the same map selected? Which activity in BaseCamp was selected?

On your device you say Hiking is selected but what other options with that selected are there?
