I've created a track with many waypoints. When I finished, I decided that my track had too many waypoints, so I deleted many of them from the waypoints list in the left hand column of the BC display. That done, I wanted to add a few waypoints, but when I try to add waypoints using the same name as some of those that I deleted, I get a pop message saying that the name is invalid. Is BC storing/caching the names somewhere and keeping them even when I delete them from the track? Is there a way to "permanently" delete them so that I can reuse the waypoint names?
Tks Sussamb, but I searched for "unlisted data" and got no results. I am running BC 4.6.2 under windows 10. Can you pls tell me where that folder should be? After striking out with the search, I've looked in program files (86) and garmin, I've looked in my user, I've looked in appdata.
Unlisted data is a folder in your My collection in BaseCamp, normally the last folder in My collection so you may need to scroll down to see it. There are two ways of deleting waypoints from a route or track. One is to delete them permanently, one is to remove them from the list that they are in. If you remove them from the list, and provided they are in no other lists, you'll find them in the Unlisted data folder.
