Error importing GPX file

Hello i am trying to import a GPX file into basecamp that my NUVI had made other files it created load fine but the one i really need is in a very large gpx file and it wont load. if i use GPSMapEdit the error i get is

Basecamp gives: Unknown error opening import file, need help fixing this issue

These are just text files. Find the offending character and delete it.

notepad++ is a good editor to use.

thanks the file was to big to open in notepad ++ so had to use hex editor take the tracks i needed and put into smaller files some are working some same error so how do i fix the ones with errors in notepad ++?
