BaseCamp Map Detail

I have purchased Dezl 770's for our fleet and need to install maps into BaseCamp so I can plan routing in advance of uploading to each 770.
Do I have to purchase a map package?

No. When you update a Dezl you can also install a map to your PC for BaseCamp to use. Until then BC will read the map from one of your units. If that's not convenient post back as they are ways around that although you'll see numerous threads here explaining how to do so.

I have looked in the update on BC as well as Garmin express and don't see where to download the map for the BC.

Are the maps in your devices up to date? If so the option won't be in Express, only once there is an update for your device.

The maps in the device are up to date.

Please forgive my ignorance. I have another unit that i will have to setup and it will require the updates. When i updated the last unit i did not see where to get the maps to be installed into basecamp.
do you have instructions for that process?

It's under map or install options, can't recall exactly. You can choose to install to device, computer or both.

In BaseCamp - it's under the Maps menu item - install maps. When you connect the device that was updated, you will beable to install the map to the Basecamp.

No. That is for installing maps already on your PC to a device.

Sorry - My mistake, sorry for the confusion - it is in the Garmin Express screen "Install to Computer" - when your device is connected.
