Changing Route color to something other than Magenta

On the Birds Eye map I downloaded, magenta is the color used to indicate major walking paths. My routes sometimes intersect these major paths and the result is very confusing when following the route on my eTrex 30x. It is very easy to miss my route turns when the two magenta colored lines overlap.

I've seen some posts in other folders which indicate it is not possible to change the color route color. This is very disappointing news if true. Just checking to see what the latest info is on being able to change the routing color.

OK, after playing around with it, I see that in BaseCamp you can change the color of your routes. I changed the color to yellow, and also to red. However, each time they download to the eTrex as cyan. Which is better than magenta but I would really like to make it show up as yellow or red on the eTrex.

You can't change the colour of routes. You can change the colour of tracks. So if it's causing you an issue use tracks.

You can't change the colour of routes. You can change the colour of tracks. So if it's causing you an issue use tracks.

But you are right that the color of tracks downloaded to the device matches the track which was drawn in BaseCamp. Funny they can't make it work the same way for routes.

That's the BaseCamp manual. You can change the colour in BC. You can't on the device.

What I'm seeing now is that when I download the track I can see it on the map of the device in the color I changed it to. However, when I do a GO to that track, the color changes back to magenta. So my color change is in the end ineffective. Anything I can do to stop it changing back to magenta when I do a GO?

Not that I know. But why do a go? Just follow the track.

I think that's what the GO is doing. On my eTrex 30x, I select "Where to", "Tracks", I select the track I want, and then I have to select "GO". I don't see any other way to follow a track. Are you saying I can just skip selecting GO?

Well if you're keen to keep the colour there's no need to press go, you can just follow the track on the map ;). You might though have to do it via track manager.
