I hope someone can help me. There seems to be a problem with Basecamp that I cannot seem to correct. Here is the problem. I create a route in basecamp using via points. I do this to hopefully force the garmin device I download the route to, to follow the route the way I created it. The garmin device always takes the fastest route between two points and totally ignores the via points I have planned along the route.
For example: I want to visit my neighbor right next door, but I want to take the long way around to get to my neighbors house. I go to the end of my driveway and turn left(via point) travel a half mile and turn left again(Via point) go half mile and turn left(via point) then go half mile and arrive at neighbors house on left. As you can see all I have done is go around the block.. I send this route to my garmin gps (2639lmt). When I select the route on the Garmin and hit go the gps recaluates the route and tell me to turn right at the end of the driveway and arrive at destination. You see it totally ignored the route I had planned. So what good is basecamp it garmin gps will not follow the route I planned.
