Sorry if this is a simple task but I am really struggling with it. When I am creating a route and come across an area where a trail crosses a road or a parking lot Basecamp simply freaks out and will not route across it. I am sure there is a way to overcome this but I cannot figure it out. As soon as I try to route across an area like this it reverses the route and goes all the way around to the other side rather than straight across. ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1365449.jpg
Thank you very much for that solution. Several times over the last 10 years in MapSource and BaseCamp I've wanted to route over a short distance where there was no road for the route tool to follow - sometimes 10m or less.
Be careful in asking to place exactly coincident vector points upon different road/trail layers. Garmin may have deliberately programmed to prevent starting off road trail routing coincident with road mapping vector points for technical reasons.
Great. Thanks for this. I have had this problem ever since getting my GPS, but doing separate routes and joining never occurred to me. Solves a lot of problems when planning mountain bike rides in the UK, using OSGB maps
