Routes do not work as expected from Basecamp to Drive 6

I have all the latest updates to both Basecamp and my Drive 6 and Drive 61.

I have several routes made up using Basecamp. I transfer them to the Drive 6 and 61, with everything looking good. But when I try to use a route in either device the first route works as planned. But when I try to use different route, it uses the first route again.

No matter which route I choose it uses the first route. The first route originated "at home".

Any Ideas?

    A little more information
It doesn't matter what routes I "send to" the Drive 6 & 61 it will always start navigation from my current location.

The device will preview the correct route. But will start navigation from my current location, no matter what route is choosen.

    Thanks for any help!

  • Well it will start from your current location, that's what it's designed to do. What steps do you take to start a route? Explain precisely please so I can see where you may be going wrong.

With the routes "sent to" the Drive 6.
    1 Where to
    2 Trip Planner
    3 Choose a trip
4 Next screen shows start point, end point, # miles, time to travel
5 Click on "MAP" button and it shows you a preview of the route.
    6 Click "back" symbol
7 click "go" to a screen that shows you the start way point and end way point, and you must choose one. If you choose the end way point it will recalculate the route from your current location to the "end" way point, ignoring the chosen route and it's shaping points.
But if you choose the start way point, it will calculate a route to the "start" way point and then it shows the chosen route and all the shaping points.

I think I have solved my own problem by just choosing the "start" way point for the Drive 6 to go to, then start using my route. That is different from how my Nuvi 1490 handles loaded routes from BaseCamp.

Do you see a problem with how this is working?
  • That's exactly how it's designed. Should you have intermediate viapoints in the route you would also be able to choose them also. Basically your device will route you to whichever point you choose and then follow the route from that point.

Your older 1490 used Route planner, your new device uses a different app called Trip planner.
