Garmin eTrex 30 hangs when first plugged into computer.

Recently my eTrex 30 has started hanging when I connect it to my computer. It gets to "Saving all waypoints, routes and trip log information in GPX format. 99% complete." then it gets stuck and never goes to the USB connection verification screen.

I'm using Windows 10 and firmware 4.30.

That links not working for me. However I suspect you may have a corrupted file. If you can get your PC to recognise the device I'd try removing all the gpx files then doing a power on/off cycle and then try.

Try connecting your device after your device has already booted. Had the same problem until I tried that.

Turning on the device before connecting to the computer works for me too. Thanks for the advice, it was frustrating me.
