eTrex 30x Tracks sorted arbitrarily after transfer

I recently purchased an eTrex 30x (for only one reason, my Legend C could no longer communicate reliably with my Windows 10 PC). OK, I'm resigned to the fact that if I want to avoid the dreaded blue pins showing up in routes transferred to the eTrex, I need to convert them to tracks (not too thrilled about this work around as I would have expected improvements and not undesirable features in moving from the Legend C to the 30x). I have about 25 routes that I converted to tracks. They are named sequentially beginning with "01". When I convert to tracks and move them over to the eTrex, and access the track list on the eTrex, I am surprised to find that the list is not sorted in any particular order. This makes picking out a track I want to follow very frustrating. I tried to find some option to set the sort order but to no avail.

I guess these tracks are now stored on the eTrex as GPX files. However, the sequential numbering of the GPX files does not seem to match the name I gave to the tracks.

I would really like to be able to sort the track list by name in the eTrex.

Anyone have any ideas? I've tried attaching the GPX files to this post but keep getting an invalid file error and I can't confirm whether they were attached..

BTW - after deleting the GPX track files on the eTrex, in Basecamp, setting the view, sort by Name/Ascending and resending the tracks to the eTrex does not correct the sort on the eTrex.

In addition, I see no way to select which tracks are being sent to the eTrex by Basecamp. It looks like Basecamp is always sending everying to the eTrex.

Tracks and routes are sorted by distance from where you are, nearest first. There's no way to sort them alphabetically.

BaseCamp will only send what you select so ensure you select only what you want to send.

This Basecamp setting just affects Basecamp's behavior. (Basecamp has no way of altering the settings/behavior of GPS units.)

ensure you select only what you want to send.

OK, I can manage this as I will only send to the eTrex the particular track I want to follow before each outing. Thank you. I can live with this.

The embedded link within the thread is broken but I did succeed by putting together info from other posts in getting rid of the Blue Pin problem.

I used the paint application in Windows 10.

1) edited the colors to create magenta RGB= 255, 0, 255
2) Selected the color for both color 1 and 2
3) Created a rectangle and muddled my way through paint to get the size down to below 32 pixels per dimension (Careful, I missed this in my first attempt and it didn't work because the pixel dimensions were over the limit)
4) Saved as file type 24-bit Bitmap with the name "Pin, Blue.bmp" to the CustomSymbols folder on the eTrex

The blue pin is now replaced by the small magenta square.

The solution works but does take some perseverance to successfully complete.
