Export data from Basecamp to Excel - missing columns
Former Member
New to Garmin and the Basecamp software. Just looking for some advice. I am trying to export my data from Basecamp to Excel. I have followed the instructions provided by Garmin, but the leg distance, leg time and leg speed columns do not transfer. Other fields such as the date/time stamp and the location/elevation data transfer, but not the leg data (which is honestly what I need the most for my application). Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have called and talked to someone from the Garmin Support Center and the rep said it was an issue with the Basecamp software (and that I was not doing anything wrong in how I was going about transferring the data). If you have encountered this problem and know of a work-around for this issue, any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated!
The only stored values for tracks are position, elevation and time. The other values are calculated from this primary data. The info you want can be obtained by opening the Track Properties window, select a track point and type ctrl-a to select all points. Then copy and paste into excel. Off hand, I can't say if you have to do any corrections. It may depend on your version of BaseCamp and/or Excel.
