Error connecting to server when trying to transfer MY GPX file to 62s

After updating my 62s Firmware today, I tried reloading my tracks and waypoints from a gpx file onto my device. Sometimes it gives me a Birdseye transfer error message--and I do NOT subscribe to that service, but most often it tells me that there's an error connecting to Garmin servers. Never mind that some of us just MIGHT have reason to transfer OUR data to OUR device when we are outside internet coverage--NONE of the recommended "fixes" have solved the problem--resetting IE (Thank you, Garmin, for forcing me to spend an hour just resetting IE to work with other programs properly); using Chrome in lieu of IE; cutting out firewall, etc. This is like living back in the first year of Windows. Anyone have a solution? I don't understand why a company that builds such good units builds such ungodly software....
  • I'm unclear what you're doing since a connection to Garmin servers isn't required to move data from BaseCamp to a device. There should also be no interaction with Birdseye. I suggest you call product support so they can troubleshoot this for you, as all I can think is that somehow you're trying to download/move a Birdseye file, possibly without realising. That's the only thing that could be affected by a server error that I can think of.

Yes, the talk of browsers is confusing as well. What does a browser have to do with Basecamp?
