Basecamp on new laptop with Windows 10 Creator

Nuvi 2529 ver 8.70

Plug in nuvi to new laptop, download Garmin Express, install Communicator, check for updates, and transfer maps to PC, Basecamp will also be down loaded and installed. (updated to 4.6.2)

However, under "Manage Map Products..." UK and Ireland 2018.20 displays "Locked" and I am unable to use the maps on my hard drive.

I try "Unlock Online", "Find Device" and I enter the serial number, but I don't have an "Product Key/Coupon Code"

Is there a simple solution ? Or is this how it is meant to work?

First, no need for Communicator anymore. Second, did you use Express to download your map to your new PC? If so I'd try redownloading them. Alternatively are you still able to access them on your old PC? If so use JaVaWa's GMTK to transfer the maps from old to new http://www.javawa.nl/gmtk_en.html

Old PC has Motherboard terminal failure (BER).

When you select "Unlock Online", "Find Device" is greyed out, and the screen has a message stating "Communicator not installed....."

And I have tried one reload. Getting the maps from the nuvi to the PC takes nearly 2 hours..........

Is the Product Key/Coupon Code so well disguised that it takes Sherlock Holmes to find it !!!! Or is one not supplied on the basis that it not needed?

Your other option is to call Product Support for help. They may be able to provide an unlock code for you.
