Flag icons on Routes

When I create a route in BaseCamp and send it to my Monterra it shows flag icons at what I assume to be the way-points that the route is based on. I find them to be useless clutter on the small screen. Is there a way to eliminate them?

BTW, the route was downloaded as a GPX file from a hiking site and imported into BaseCamp.

I have custom symbols on my handhelds that replace the blue pin, blue flag etc etc

You could also built your route or track with shaping points instead of Waypoints which will not have icons.

I'm always reluctant to make changes at the Registry level to deal with the shortcomings of software. Garmin ought to take more care in making their software work together properly. After all, the whole point of BaseCamp, a Garmin product, is to do things like building routes and sending them to devices Garmin devices.

My solution is to forget about importing tracks & routes and just build the routes in BaseCamp.

You're not making changes at the registry level, just using custom icons. Building the route in BaseCamp can still get you the blue flags etc.

BaseCamp works pretty well with all Garmin devices, the issue is not all devices work the same way so occasionally you as a user need to change things if it's not exactly what you want.
