Unlocked City Navigator in BaseCamp

I'm still learning my way around the BaseCamp software and I needed clarification on one issue.

City Navigator North America NT 2015.3 is listed as being unlocked in the Map Product Manager portion of the software. Am I correct that this is only unlocked for the purpose of using it in the software and therefore, as it seems, it cannot be installed on my eTrex 20x device?

Depends how you got it but generally yes, it won't be installable on your Etrex. Best way to check is to try.

I realize that this isn't necessarily the correct place to ask this question, but I'm curious about where are the forums for all the other Garmin devices, such as the Etrex and automotive GPS?

There are some good third party (user to user) forums that cover the Garmin automotive and handheld devices. My favorites are POI Factory (poi-factory.com) for automotive, GPS Review (forums.gpsreview.net) for both automotive and handheld, and Geocaching (forums.geocaching.com) for handhelds. Note that geocaching.com is focused on the geocaching sport, but they have a specific section for GPS hardware and there are helpful members there with in depth knowledge of the Garmin handhelds.

There has been a German version available for years here that has the hand held models: https://forum.garmin.de/forum.php

The only time I use Google Chrome browser is on that site as it offers to do an automatic translation to English.
