Waypoints not showing

Garmin Montana 610.
When I create a waypoint on the Garmin, it shows on the map that is on the screen. However, when I open that route in Basecamp, the waypoints do not show. I can't seem to find a menu item to turn them on. Can it be done or is this the way BC is supposed to work?

Alan: Pls disregard my previous post. I was typing while Sussamb was typing. I did not realize that copying the track did not copy the waypoints. In my ignorance, I assumed they were all part and parcel of the "trip".

As will be obvious to you and Sussamb, now that I copied the waypoints, voil?, they show on the tracks in my collection.
