Continental Divide

Up on the Alpine Loop in Western Colorado, a trail we took in our side-by-side machines came to the top of a gulch, right on the Continental Divide. But had to find that on a Latitude 40 map.

Does BaseCamp not show the Continental Divide across the United States? Or do I need to do something to turn it on?

It'll only show it if the map selected has it, which map are you using?

BaseCamp and the TOPO U.S. 24k Southwest.

Not familiar with that map so perhaps someone who is can say if it shows it. But if you're not seeing it on your device either then it's unlikely to do so.

Don't know if my TOPO U.S. 2008 and your TOPO U.S 24k Southwest has same detail or not TOPO U.S. 2008 shows only points of interest along the Continental Divide.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1247584.jpg

After poking around on the few Basecamp compatible map and trail overlay files for the Colorado USA CDT area that are on this computer, I re-learned a little about Basecamp searching of Adventures and POIs. Good luck with that. I had a few relatively short CDT trail logs show up, but I am not positive whether they were from something I purposely downloaded from a 3rd party or not.

Garmin has purchased the assets of at least one former mapping company's pretty good trail routable maps, so maybe there will be a combination of features showing up some day. In the meantime just download some gpx files and hope they overlay usefully.
