Find tool/tab extremely slow

I have been using basecamp (currently 4.6.2 and City Navigaor North America NT 2018.2) for a few years and not too long ago I noticed that when I go to use Find POIs it can really bog down. It doesnt matter if I try to find lodging or fuel or anything.... it's very slow. When I first specify the find it seem to go out and fairly quickly find a few of the needed POIs but then it goes into a longer search mode that can get very long..(sometimes as long as a minute or two). Wondering if anyone has seen this issue and if there is a solution...possibly something I have configured incorrectly in WIN 10 (it never happened in win*)

Difficult to tell as time taken depends on numerous things. Can you give an example based on where you were searching from and for what and the time it took?

If I center my map around Conway NH and click on Find POIs the system immediately goes into search mode for all POIs in the area. It does not give me a chance to specify any particular type of POI (such as fuel or lodging). It will come up with a short list (5 or so) of POIs within 5 secs or so ( a great time) and once this is found it goes immediately into a second search, locking the system up until the search is completed,for a about 15-20 secs after wich the entire listing box is populated. During this time the system is again locked up. Now, I really wanted to find Fuel POIs but the system would not allow me to do that untill it found all the POIs. So after all the POIs have been located I can ask for Fuel POIs. The sytem again comes back within a short itme (5 secs or so) and then goes out for a econd look and this can take anywhere for 15 to 30 secs. In extreme cases I have seen it take 1 -2 min to do the search.... during which time the system is busy and can't be interupted

Try Ctrl + Alt + F

You should then be able to choose which POIs you want to search for. See if that helps.

That helps.. it bypasses the initial problem, but it still gives me that 2 level search, the second of which takes the longest....

Second search is always longer as it is a much longer list. I guess it's why the developers designed it for an initial short search, followed by the longer one if required.

Having said that I've just tried a search around Conway for fuel and it took a few seconds at most for the full list, the first list of 6 was there within a second. Even just doing a Find POIs only took a second or two.

Are you using a map installed on your PC or a map that's on a device?

Mine doesn't come back in anywhere near a sec....more like 5 and the second around 15 or more. I'm using the map on he PC

You could try an uninstall then reinstall of BaseCamp ... only takes a few seconds, but other than that I can't explain it. Only time I get a slow response from my BaseCamp is an initial search for an address, that takes a while but subsequent searches are far quicker.
