BirdsEye Satellite Imagery Subscription - Basecamp or Website wont activate!

Hi, I use basecamp all the time. I recently bought 2 subscriptions for BirdsEye scenery.

I have tried to activate through Basecamp - basecamp can see both subcription numbers but when I select either of them and "activate" the same message "The selected device was not recongnised . . etc" comes up.

I have tried to activate it through my garmin account online . . but the "myMaps" feasture does not show any subrciptions as per the guidance notes.

I have already followed all the guidance notes, I have updated basecamp, registered the compatible device (oregan 450t) and updated its software and I have it plugged in and done all the usual stuff.

Interestingly I also bought the TOPO East Africa map which I donwloaded through Garmin Express and this works no problems. The topo map works fine!

Please please please help . . . . I have spent $60 and two days of my life trying to get this to work! But something is seriously wrong . . and its not user error this time I have tried everything the guideance notes and auotmated emails from Garmin support sales have given me.

I am guessing there is a connection / association issue between my Garmin account, my registered devise and my 2 purchases!!!

    Just to help all those with the same issues . . I fixed it!

    I fixed it by doing two things . . .

    1) I deleted the GPS from the register in “myProducts” online. Then re-registered the device to my account. Now it activated OK!
    2) I have been noticing that the Firefox browser or MS Edge browser has issues with seeing the myGarmin account. So now I use MS Explorer and it appears to work much better.

  • I am experiencing the very same issue - and I have removed the device (a Garmin 820) from myGarmin and re-registered it from Garmin Express. But now it doesn't appear in myGarmin anymore?

    I'm sure there is a problem somewhere between the Garmin Express/Connect account and the myGarmin account. Garmin support are helping me here but it has been about 4 weeks of one solitary email a day to try and resolve it without success sadly. Not sure how to do better diagnostics here - especially on the difference between the two accounts (Garmin Express versus myGarmin).

    Any thoughts or suggestions very welcome.

    Sorry, I meant to state I was experiencing exactly the same issue that the original poster described - and Garmin support are advising that my 820 isn't registered to myGarmin (it was, but I went ahead and removed it and then tried to re-register via Garmin Express but it hasn't appeared in myGarmin yet this time). Garmin support advised it was "associated" but not "regsitered" - but I can't see any mention of "associated" in myGarmin or Garmin Express. I'm assuming there is a "disconnect" somewhere between the registered devices in myGarmin and Garmin Express.

    But basically this issue started when I bought a Basecamp subscription about a month ago, it wouldn't "activate" (as per the original poster's problem) so I looked in this forum, saw the same problem, tried the same resolution that was advised, and the posted looking for some help. Everyhting on my Garmin 820 works fine, just can't get Basecamp to work with it.

    If there is a better thread for my problem please let me know and I'll head over to that.
  • Not a problem any longer, I managed to register the device manually from the main Garmin website. Once it was registered (manually) it appeared in myGarmin and now Basecamp has been activated and all is working.
