Map Selection on my Nuvi 2597

There isn't a forum for device issues like this but generally it's not a good idea to select more than one map covering the same area as it can cause issues. So only enable the map you want to use.

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but I have downloaded OSM maps and another set of track maps onto my Nuvi via Basecamp. I see all 3 of them listed and ticked in MyMaps on the device.
I can deselect 2 of the 3 to see each set individually.
But how do I know which set is being used at any particular time when all three are ticked?

It's easy enough to figure out the map display precedence. Find an area that has some feature that is distinctly different on each of the maps. Tick all three and note which map is being displayed based on the feature difference(s). Uncheck that map and see which one of the remaining two is being displayed now.

By default, the one that has not displayed yet has the lowest precedence of the three.

That'll give the display priority but you may still get issues with routing etc, given that you can only see one map at a time it's best to only have selected the one you want.

Yes, of course. I agree with all of that. I just wanted to share a simple way to determine viewing precedence if there's ever a question.
