Storage Space on Oregon 600

I have an Oregon 600. I had a 32GB micro sd memory card in it to store my routes. I have just purchased a full uk OS map for it, but this is only on a 4GB micro sd card and is not big enough to store my routes on as this as well. I have tried to copy the map to a larger micro sd card but it is not recognise. How do I resolve this.
Also Basecamp will not copy a backup from this card. Is this the same security problem?

The map is locked to the card and so can only be used on that card. Store routes on the internal memory as they don't take up much room.
