Map Downloads

Hello, I'm very new to Basecamp and the whole map download process. I am wanting to download the $89.99 lifetime maps to my pc. It's asking for a device to plug in. My Garmin GPS is an old Nuvi that is not acceptable. Can I load these maps on Basecamp (my pc) and onto and SD card? Will that work?

Any help is appreciated and if this is not posted in the correct location, mods please advise.

Two possible issues here. One, you can't just buy lifetime maps. You buy a lifetime update for pre-existing maps. Two, downloaded maps cannot be installed to your PC.

Thank you. So then, does an SD card count as a device then?

No, although if it was installed in a device you could. A downloaded map needs to be sent to an appropriate device, and the download is then locked to that device. If the map is sent to the installed card that card won't work in any other device.
