Your issues with the RV760/770 devices resulted in my looking into the routing issues for all devices a little more closely. It seems to me that in, the real world, mandatory use of identical maps on the computer and device may not be practical. The RV770 advanced design of route avoidances for propane transportation exemplifies this issue.
Until Basecamp catches up with the RV770 design, you might want to consider selecting Direct point to point routing on the computer to create sample longer "propane" routes for export to the device. Then let the RV770 recalculate to fill in the turn points. Good luck with that option <grin>.
Per the last of several technicians I talked to today, told me Garmin decided several months ago to discontinue any updates to Basecamp and to let it die.
This thread makes little sense if updates are being discontinued.
there are so many, 1000s, critiques already posted here for improvements, deficiencies and bugs anything posted here is just a repeat.

Huh? There is no relationship between Garmin discontinuing Basecamp and continuing to use it. The forum is an excellent place for Garmin to data mine for the 10,000 comments on bugs and improvements. Since they wont be paying any staff to support Basecamp anylonger whats the point of repeating whats already been stated over and over and over.

You can fix this yourself: Right-click Start button and select Command Prompt (administrator)
In the box that appears, type: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Google Earth\client\googleearth.exe" /RegServer
You might want to check your own Google Earth link in your Start Menu if the path is correct. Instead of "Program Files (x86)" the path might be just "Program Files". If you use GE Pro, the "Google Earth" might be "Google Earth Pro".In some versions there is no "client" subfolder.
