I loaded some practice routes and waypoints to my device's internal storage how do I permanently remove then from my RV760LMT.
  • Delete them using the menus on your device. If you loaded them using a program ensure you first delete the files in the GPX folder on your device.
  • That's because neither BaseCamp or any other program can access the data. It can only be done via menus on the device.
  • I don't want to hijack this thread, BUT it does pertain to BC and the new 770.

SUSSAMB I feel I'm a big user of Basecamp for what I do. I think Garmin feels Basecamp is just a free afterthought and doesn't really care much about it. As far as I'm concerned, BC is what makes Garmin different from other GPS manufacturers, otherwise they are all just a device. I bet if you asked past MapSource users, they would have some choice graphic words about that situation.

I realize you don't work for Garmin but ask yourself, why can't Garmin make BC access the data from within it's own program?

Why can't Garmin fix the Google Earth link? You did and showed all of us how to fix it.

The new Garmin RV770 updates its maps and OS via WIFI on the go, but it won't connect to your computer for BC, so you could have one map on the device and a different map on BC. You know how many posts that will cause. Adding wifi or Bluetooth to the device (so it can connect to BC) has been requested since the dezl...

I can connect my RV770 to BaseCamp and it shows up like any of my past units. However if I send a route to the RV770 I can see it from BaseCamp but the RV770 can not see it. I can send waypoints to the RV770 and they do show up in the saved places. The external memory card is completely ignored by the RV770.

I have used Garmin Express to update map and OS files without any problems. I doubt I would ever use the WiFi to do that.

I agree that BaseCamp is a key feature of the Garmin line.
  • As far as I'm aware there is no development taking place, the last person I had contact with left around this time last year.

    thank you Mr. Bell

    thank you sir
i'm just learning about basecamp and my RV760.
I am planning a 2 month long touring vacation out west this summer. I plan
to catch a lot of the tourist interest items. I 'll be towing my 33 ft 5th wheel.

Is this what you're looking for?

    TO DELETE SAVED PLACES
    Main Screen
    Where To
    Saved
Touch the upper left menu button (3 bars) for the delete menu

    TO DELETE ROUTES
    Main Screen
    Apps
    Trip Planner
Touch the upper left menu button (3 bars) for the delete menu

Even though we have been asking for several years, you still can't do this from Basecamp.

    deleting gpx files

Delete them using the menus on your device. If you loaded them using a program ensure you first delete the files in the GPX folder on your device.

if I understand correctly, it will be safe to delete the GPX files from the GPX folder in my internal memory on my RV760. doing that will remove all waypoints and routes from my 760.
