Cannot Remove "Trip Planner" Route From Nuvi Internal Memory

Hi, I've been creating a multi day route on Base Camp using the "Trip Planner" feature. I copied it to the Nuvi 3790T internal storage on Nuvi and now whenever I delete it through the Nuvi (cause it won't do it on Base Camp) they disappear as if they've been deleted. But as soon as I restart it they start loading up again in the trip planner section on the Nuvi.

How do I permanently delete them?

EDIT: Just tried copying a different route on the trip planner on base camp and it has duplicated all of my previous routes that I can't delete!! :( Even though on base camp, it's shows that the only routes on the external memory is the one that I just copied. This thing is driving me crazy!!!
  • If you've used BaseCamp to send data to your nuvi it will have created a file in the GPX folder on your nuvi, normally called temp.gpx

You need to delete that file otherwise you will not be able to delete the data it contains as your device will just re-import it each time you switch the device on.

Thank you! I was literally going insane! Seems such a stupid system!!!!!

I had deleted the GPX files from both the internal and external memory after reading on so many places on the internet about these files but have just understood that they archive it and regenerate. Such a stupid thing, if I want to delete my route, it should be deleted. Makes sense why the routes seemed to regenerate slowly each time I looked in the Trip Planner section on the Nuvi
  • BaseCamp was originally aimed at handheld devices which worked differently to On the road devices. BaseCamp can directly access data on handhelds, but not on nuvis etc so a bit of manual intervention is necessary. Get into the habit of deleting temp.gpx after you're happy the data is on your device and all will be well.
