I have 94 jnx files in my Basecamp, my collection folder. Same files are installed on my Montana 600 gps. with valid subscription to ByrdsEye. I am planing to buy another Montana and I was wondering if I will be able to install same collection of jnx files without a need to download them again, if I buy subscription for the new unit?
  • Good question, and I'm not sure of the answer. Your best bet would be to call Garmin Support and ask.

Having said that BirdsEye files that you downloaded a while back may have been replaced with better quality ones, so you may be better off re-downloading them anyway.

Thanks, but some newer images are better, and some others are very bad. Winter images are useless for northern tundra regions. No way of knowing if it is a lake or clearing, swamp or tundra. Also having a multiple gps units it is easier having one Basecamp with all the data in one place. Also it is lots of work arranging image tiles to fit into a desired area of interest.I will wait with acquisition of second gps until I am clear on this question. Thanks,Rudy.
