New to Basecamp and the Forum

I'm a long time user of Ride With GPS.com and love it. I've just started to use Basecamp in order to use a Oregon 650 for long distance bicycle touring. However I find Basecamp cumbersom, confusing and very difficult to use compaired to rwgps. I've twice removed Basecamp from my computer out of frustration. I'm hoping I can learn the complexities of the program here.

The reason I tried Basecamp is because I cannot get turn by turn directions on my 650 when I download a route from ride with gps.com into my 650. It seems to work fine with the basic test route I managed to make in Basecamp.

Any help in finding something like 'Basecamp for Dummies' would be greatly appreciated! :confused:

Ridewithgps can produce track files or "route" (waypoint) files.

I think the 650 works with "route" files (the third export option). The Edges used for cycling can only use track files (either tcx or gpx).

Which did you try on the 650?
